Episode 117: Completely LOST
May 31st, 2009 by thegeeksavants
With the season finale of LOST weeks behind them, the Geek Savants reconvene to make sense of one of the most challenging episodes to date. Their quest for answers leads them back to the shows beginnings, and what starts as a simple season five review turns into a series retrospect that brings up more questions than answers. The guys dig deeper into the world of LOST than ever before and prove just why they’ve earned their titles as “Geek Savants.”
WARNING: THIS EPISODE IS PACKED WITH SPOILERS. YOU CAN’T GO BACK IN TIME TO UNDO LISTENING TO IT!

How boring. Will not even bother to download this. you guys are losing me being like every other fanboy type podcast.Completely LOST indeed.
Well, fuck you, too!
Seriously, we don’t give a shit about what other “fanboy type” podcasts produce. We do things our way, and have for over two years. If we like something (sex, drugs, thieving, anarchy, comics and LOST) we’ll talk about it.
I don’t know if you’re actually a listener or just another anonymous internet scab that just needs to bitch about something you won’t even give a chance. You’re probably the latter: just another fanboy type.
How boring, indeed.
–Dave
Don’t worry about it Dave… ol Captain here is prolly just getting his rocks off blasting a podcast. Bottom line is that I doubt he’s ever listened to a Savants episode. If he did he’d love you guys… either that or he’s too pussified to understand the brilliance that is the Savants.
Comparing you guys to any “fanboys” is simply crazy… long live the Savants!
Also, giving us a crappy rating without even listening is completely ignorant. If you are a listener—stop listening. We don’t want or need your kind of fanbase.
–D
Not a problem Dave. You come off like the tiny dicked insecure asshole you are. . BTW i have listenened for 2 years now and what was once brilliant now feels forced and boring. Now, go have another drink, you drunk.
I’ll give you that bit about my tiny dick, but insecure? Really?
Personally, with the exception of ‘Fanime Freeballing’ (in which we were all completely exhausted), I think some of our recent episodes have been our best. ‘This Means War!’ and ‘How We Met Brian’s Mother’ are some of our favorites. While I appeciate your frankness (and lame ass attempts at put downs), I don’t respect you badmouthing us based something you didn’t even bother listening to. I would think a ‘fan’ of the show would have a more open mind. If you don’t like some of our episode topics– I get that, but we always stamp our balls on whatever we decide to talk about. To say that we’re being “just like every fanboy podcast” does everyone a disservice, especially those other podcasts who strive to actually inform people. We’re just guys who like to bullshit!
I hate to break it to you, but Ugly isn’t always having threesomes, I’m not always fall down drunk, and Grant isn’t always stealing shit. The only constants are Brian’s good nature, our love of popculture, our strangely enduring friendships and the humor that comes from them.
I’ve had people give me unconstructive feedback about my comic work and have always been able to laugh them off. I think I’m taking this personally because The Geek Savants has always been about getting together with the boys, and putting it out there for people to laugh at.
Sorry we haven’t held your interest, but whatever. We’re going to continue doing what we do.
–Dave
P.S. Suck my tiny cock, douche bag!
Hey Captain Douchey… we all know you’re gonna keep listening so cut the crap, like Davey boy said- not EVERY episode is gonna have a sweatpants boner in an old ladies’ face story true…but ya never know when those tales pop up! For all you know that boring sounding ‘Lost’ episode or random freeball could’ve had a moment in it that makes you laugh/cry/wretch!
-Grant ‘Whatawookie’ Miller- holder of the RED BAG of DOOM!
Guys,
Why are you even giving this guy the satisfaction? I’ll tell you this: If I ever got to the point where the Savants wasn’t doing it for me anymore, I’d just stop listening. I wouldn’t be on your site telling you how much you suck. Why? Because I’m a fucking grown up, that’s why.
Captain you are missing out man. This is only part 1 of our 10 part retrospective on LOST!
That cap’s ship has sunk! I would have been totally ‘lost’ this episode if I hadn’t been a devoted LOST fan; But I am, so I listened (it was awesome, by the way). If I wasn’t a fan or hadn’t watched, I would have skipped it and been the better person and not mentioned it (Charlie’s Angels anyone?
).
Lay off, Cap’n….
LOL, this is straight comedy. WARRRRRRR!!!
Yeah, I don’t plan to listen to this episode because I don’t want Lost to be spoiled for me. But seriously, why even post on this thing when all the discussion happens on the forum. Flame in the right place!
What discussions? What forums? Why are YOU posting here then? I was just stating an opinion and Dave got all aggro on me. He made it bigger than what it was with his inability to take a critism. DONE.
Waaaah–!
I can take criticism just fine, Captain…especially when “critism” is spelled correctly, and is fucking CONSTRUCTIVE. What I won’t stand for is people whining about something without explaining what they’re whining about. How have we become “just like every fanboy podcast?” When did we start feeling “forced and boring?” How would YOU make it better?
I appreciate you feeling the need to comment on the show—it must really mean something to you, but justify your remarks with reason. Don’t hate for hate sake, and don’t hide behind a fake name when you do it, “Captain.” I don’t think I’m being agro I’m just telling it how it is, like I always have. Insecurity has nothing to do with my actions; I’m simply defending my friends and the show.
If you don’t like the show, stop listening. We don’t have time for name calling whiners.
There. Now we’re done.
Listener for 2 years and you don’t know about the forums? I call BS! They only plug the forum every show. As far as me replying here, Dave posted a link to your comment there. Thats why you see a ton of forum posters responding.
Also, how can you criticize something if you didn’t even listen to it? I’m not defending The Lost episode because I didn’t hear it either so for all I know it may really suck. However, you are you just reacting because they did a Lost episode? They’ve talked about Lost numerous times, where have you been the past two years? Also, did you hear the Grant rant about his wife a couple episdoes ago? How is that losing it? That will go down as one of the greatest show moments.
